About Our Conscious Living Retreats

We pull upon our experience of over a decade of world travel, as well as 25 countries and 5 continents (10 countries/4 continents traveling together) to bring you adventures that will make memories that last a lifetime. Every location is chosen from the heart in order to curate a journey that will introduce you to the most genuine aspects of each country and culture you come into contact with. These Conscious Living Retreats combine elements of the subtle energy practices of Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, and more. In addition, our retreats utilize sound as a powerful tool of transformation, using instruments such as the handpan, didgeridoo, gong, crystal singing bowls, various world instruments, and more. A journey with us will take you deeply inward, all while exploring the wonders of the senses in exotic locations around the globe. Travel is a powerful tool for growth and expanding one’s perspective of the world. We will use our experience to guide you on your journey. It is our goal to leave a positive impact in each destination, leave as little of a footprint as possible, and build a bridge between cultures that will last through future generations.

About Our Yoga Practice

We believe that yoga is for everyBODY and do our best to incorporate a mindful practice that is accessible to anyone, at any level of experience. Attendees to our past retreats have ranged from complete beginners to seasoned yoga practitioners. We share subtle energy practices that incorporate mindful movement, stillness, deep relaxation, and take into account that everyone’s body and practice is different. The practice is about YOU and where you are at in your life when you step on the mat. We also believe that the most important part of Yoga is when you take your practice off the mat and into your day to day life.

Why Morocco?

In 2010 and 2011, Jeremy spent a cumulative 14 months living and traveling throughout West Africa and North Africa. During this time, he spent several months in Morocco traveling, and living with a musician family playing and learning some of the local music. During this time, the mountains, coast, and desert of Morocco captured Jeremy’s heart and it has been a dream to share the beauty of Morocco with others ever since. Music has always had a way of connecting Jeremy and Nancy with the true essence of each destination as they travel, allowing them to get off the beaten path and into the core of each country’s people and culture. They wish to share a more intimate side of Morocco with the Mystical Morocco Retreat.

About Sahara Yoga

~”Die Wüste Reinigt die Seele”~         ~”The Desert Cleanses the Soul”~

Sahara Yoga was founded by Ayla Karen and Barak Oussidi. With Sahara Yoga, you travel as a family member and not as a tourist. Sahara Yoga’s roots are in Germany (Ayla) and Morocco (Barak). Sahara Yoga offers an authentic journey through Morocco and shows you the best the country has to offer. Experience the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh, the high mountains of the Atlas, and the all-encompassing silence of the Sahara Desert. Join Sahara Yoga in the desert and get to know the nomads and their culture firsthand in their own desert camp. At Sahara Yoga, you will be welcomed into the lap of the dunes and the heart of the Berbers. You will experience a yoga practice that is intensified by the silence and tranquility of the desert. Meditate on the dunes and listen deep into yourself.

About the Children's Project

Merzouga was founded by Barak’s father in 1949. It is Barak’s mission to keep this village alive and work for a sustainable and healthy future for the people, the village, and the oasis. He founded the Children’s Project in 2011 and last year built a new school house. The children from the village come to learn (math, writing, nature, health, brushing teeth, sustainability, being kind, etc.). They range from 3 to 6 years old and attend the Children’s Project before beginning normal school. There are three classes in different parts of the village and more than 100 children benefit from the project.
